It has come to our notice that cyber fraudsters are calling pensioners under the pretence of helping them to update their Life Certificate online and using this new method to deceive them. These cybercriminals ask the victims to share their personal details such as Pension Payment Order Number, Date of Birth, Bank Details, Aadhar Number etc. and then claim to send a One Time Password (OTP) for verification and request the pensioner to share the OTP with them. Once OTP is shared, the fraudster get access to the victim's pension account and transfer all available funds to fake accounts making it difficult for the victims to retrieve their money.
Please Note that CPAO, Banks or any other Govt. Agency does not call for submission of Annual Life Certificate or ask for sharing any personal information including OTP, so do not share any personal information including your PPO No. with anyone. Para 14 of Scheme Booklet issued by CPAO as well as OMs issued by DoP&PW may be referred to for submission of Annual Life Certificate.
All the pensioners are cautioned to beware in this regard and do not fall prey to any trap. Stay Vigilant and Be Protected & Safe.
